Review By Veronica
What an utterly charming and delightful children’s book!
Goodreads Synopsis:
Mina and her father live in a hollowed-out tree stump on the edge of a pond on the edge of a forest. Nothing ever bothers Mina, until one day, her father brings home a suspicious surprise from the woods.
Should Mina trust her father—or listen to her own instincts?
Mina is Matthew Forsythe’s latest children’s picture book and is a must-have for anyone’s (young and old) book collection. The illustrations in this book are vibrant and so gorgeous. I went through this book multiple times just so I could take in Matthew’s artwork. I adore this book’s colour scheme; it makes the pictures leap from the pages.
The story is sweet, funny, and oh so charming. The text is simple and is a great book for a read along with the little ones in your life. Even though the text is simple and short, there is still a lot of meaning and depth to the story. I loved the message that everything would be alright and for us not to worry so much.
Mina is an adorable picture book.
