Series Name: A Court of Thorns and Roses # 4

Review By Veronica

I have been waiting not so patiently for the next installment of the ACOTR series by Sarah J. Maas.

Favourite Quote:

“Never again would she be weak. Never again would she be at someone’s mercy.”

Goodreads Synopsis:

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other’s arms.

This book nearly destroyed me. I have been waiting for years to see where Nesta’s story would go, and Sarah did not disappoint. The character development in this book is out of this world. It was captivating and heartbreaking watching Nesta’s journey as she faces her inner demons and finds the courage to forgive herself. A lot of the issues that Nesta had to work through are problems that many of us have had or are currently dealing with. This made her story relatable and allowed readers to connect with Nesta. The friendships that Nesta makes are brilliant and almost stole the spotlight away from Cassian and Nesta’s relationship (almost). Every time I read a scene with Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie, I would have a huge smile on my face. Being able to watch as their friendship grew was heartwarming.

Of course, the relationship between Cassian and Nesta was everything I expected it to be. The banter between these two was witty, heartwarming, and very steamy. I always have had a fondness for Cassian’s character, and this book only deepened my affection for the Illyrian warrior, especially since he stood by Nesta even at her darkest moments. There are plenty of steamy scenes between Cassian and Nesta in this book that should leave all the Nassian fans out there quite happy.

If you are looking for adult fantasy that has it all, then look no further than the Court of Silver Flames. But be warned, this book will leave you feeling hot and bothered and very satisfied.
